Lisa Buchanan -
the Artist

I am a self-taught full time artist that
works in oils, acrylics, pastels, and
mixed media.

I became interested in painting when
a friend asked me to come "play"
with her on her tree farm and she
convinced me to try painting as a
form of relaxation.  I have been
"relaxed" ever since!

My studio paintings consist of
portraits, landscapes, religious
themes and closeups of nature.  
Recently, I have ventured into the
world of altered art where old books
that would have been thrown away
are given a new life  and everyday
objects are turned into art.  I also
make shrines, pendants and pins.

Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) have
become another passion of mine.  I
am one of the co-owners, admins,
and board members of
ATCsForALL.com and a board
member of IllustratedATCs.com,
AFA's juried sister site.
These two forums are dedicated to
mail art.  The 2.5 X 3.5 inch art cards
are traded with people from all over
the world.
