Lisa Buchanan - the Artist I am a self-taught full time artist that works in oils, acrylics, pastels, and mixed media. I became interested in painting when a friend asked me to come "play" with her on her tree farm and she convinced me to try painting as a form of relaxation. I have been "relaxed" ever since! My studio paintings consist of portraits, landscapes, religious themes and closeups of nature. Recently, I have ventured into the world of altered art where old books that would have been thrown away are given a new life and everyday objects are turned into art.
